I'm treating my girlfriend as shes finishing her exams soon, and having a nice romantic night in. Going to cook a nice dinner, I'm pretty good in the kitchen so not much I can't do really.
My first thoughts are:
Starter
San Vito Mozzarella Caprese
which is tomato slices with mozzarella cheese and basil + olive oil
Main
Sirloin Steak with Roasted Stuffed Peppers
Dessert
White Chocolate Cheesecake (homemade, my special lol) with raspberry kuli.
And was thinking strawberries with chocolate to dip in for after.
What do people think? Sound OK? If you have any suggestions I'd appreciate it.
And also any tips on how to have the table etc. and music? Things like that aren't my best tbh lol.Cooking a romantic dinner in for my girlfriend, thoughts on my ideas ..?
That sounds just perfect! Don't change a thing. Lighting is so important...soft glow from candles, try scented...but not too near the food. Linen is a must, tablecloth and napkins. The best dishes you have and go eclectic if you need to, mix and match. Soft music on the CD player and definitely flowers. The strawberryies with dipping chocolate will be great...maybe some champagne too. Lucky girl!Cooking a romantic dinner in for my girlfriend, thoughts on my ideas ..?
Lucky girl. Might suggest roasted potatoes with rosemary instead of stuffed peppers. Seems a bit heavy considering you are making a steak. However, if you have made the stuffed pepper before and it is a favorite of hers, go with the peppers.
A nice center piece with flowers. . . .her favorite of course. If you had a white table cloth with beautiful linen napkins. . .that would be awesome.
Not knowing her personality, the music could be rather fun as she walks in the hosue. Do you know the song ';celebrate'; don't know the artisit. Can't go wrong with Barry White.

Don't forget the champane. How old are you?
Sounds like a nice dinner.
For music - put on something soft or classical or some ppl like opera.
Table - Make it blend in with the color of the dishes. A couple tall candles, maybe white color or same color as table cloth. some flowers as a centerpiece.
Your menu is perfect - I wouldn't change a thing - it's a nice mix of flavors and textures and not too heavy. I would definitely add a bottle of wine or sparkling juice to the mix (and don't forget some nice wine or champagne glasses!), plus some candles if you want it to feel more intimate. Some nice sexy jazz music in the background...some cloth napkins and fresh flowers would be great touches too!
Oh yum! She's one lucky girl, and you're one smart and talented 18 year old! My only comment - have you any balsamic vinegar? It can be the cheap stuff from the market. It would go well on the caprese ensalata. How about baked spuds too since you're lacking a starch with dinner? Would you be so kind as to send me a piece of cheesecake? I must've dated some real jerks when I was 18 cause no guy cooked meals like that. Enjoy!
I don't know if you are old enough to drink, but I didn't see any wine on your menu. A nice Cabernet or Shiraz might be nice with your menu. A merlot might be a bit heavy. But I would certainly go with a red wine.
Sounds as though you have the rest well in hand. Good luck.
you're menu sounds wonderfull..if I were you, I would top it off with some candles as a centerpiece. Maybe play her favorite music. Maybe have the lights dim, if possible. Flowers do nicely also.
Maby whine or sparkle juice ( please if ur going for whine please be the right age please) to set the table, go for maby a silk table cloth with a white candle and maby some green plants surrounding it. that is very romantic!!! remember, Knife on the left and on the Right side to the fork and then the spoon. idk why that usually looks nice!!! xD yeah so try that, MAKE SURE UR CHAIRS ARE COMFY!!!! that is VEEERY important, the last thing u want is ur date to be uncomfortable! yeah even though i am only 11, this usually looks really nice ( i am using my moms account under her permission) at least in Sims 2 it looks REALLY good!!! xD
Two chocolate desserts seems OTT, but I'm not a huge dessert fan. She may well be.
I have to admit that, when I saw steak, I thought this is what a guy would want. Again, is she a steak person? Or would something like a broiled halibut or chicken piccata better suit her. When you take her out to eat, what does she order? If steak is her thing, some sauteed mushrooms or a sprinkle of blue cheese crumbles would make it more celebrative. Flame it with hot brandy?
I don't know what your recipe for stuffed peppers is like, but superficially your main sounds like it wants a green veg and a starch, rice or potatoes.
